Terms of Sale

The agreement between you and Flight Deck DIY LLC when you buy hardware from this site. Shipping, returns, and warranty have their own pages; those terms are part of this agreement too.

Who you are buying from

Flight Deck DIY LLC, a Utah limited liability company, at 218 N Main St Unit 512, Kaysville, UT 84037-9998, United States. "We" and "us" mean that company; "you" means the person placing the order.

Orders

Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract forms when we accept it, which in practice is when we charge your card and send a confirmation. If we cannot fulfil an order we will say so and refund you in full rather than let it sit.

Orders are limited to 2 units of each product. These are built by hand in small numbers, and the limit keeps one buyer from absorbing a production run meant for a dozen people.

Prices and payment

Prices are in U.S. dollars and shown on the product page. Payment is taken at checkout through Stripe. Sales tax is added where we are required to collect it; international duties and VAT are separate and are covered on the shipping page.

If a price is listed wrongly through an obvious error, we will contact you before shipping and you may cancel for a full refund. We will not quietly charge you the higher amount.

Delivery and risk

Build and transit times are on the shipping page and are estimates in good faith, not guarantees — a carrier delay is not something we control. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery, not on dispatch, which is why a parcel lost in transit is our problem to resolve and not yours.

What this hardware is for

This is simulator hardware for training and practice. It is not certified avionics, it is not airworthy, and it must never be installed in or relied upon by an actual aircraft. Procedure practice on a simulator is a genuine aid to instrument flying; it is not a substitute for instruction, for logged instrument time, or for the real aircraft's equipment.

Software, firmware and kit files

Software, firmware and 3D print files are licensed to you, not sold. You may use, print and modify them for your own personal use, including printing replacement parts for hardware you bought.

You may not sell, distribute, or commercially produce parts from these files, and you may not resell the kit as your own product. The files exist so that a buyer can build and maintain their own unit — a small business cannot survive having its designs turned into someone else's product line. Everything else on this site, including the designs, text and photographs, remains ours.

Limitation of liability

Our liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to what you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights under mandatory consumer law in your own country.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, and the courts of Utah have jurisdiction. If you buy as a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-law provisions where you live.
